Support Abby's Memorial Park
They say it takes a village. There is no doubt in our minds we picked the best one. From the beginning the support for our family has been unimaginable.
The days after Abby's passing have been uplifting. A community mourning our loss with us. There has been a ribbon campaign to place a ribbon at our door to remember Abby. You drive through town and all you see are pink bows everywhere. On all the trees, stop signs, parks. The town is literally painted pink. Last night Craig was driving and saw a couple outside in the dark with flashlights hanging a bow on their porch. He stopped to say thank you and they explained to him why they were doing it, in memory of a little girl named Abby that passed away in town. He told them he knew because he was her dad. Strangers taking the time to support us.
We have been trying to find ways to help us heal and continue to share Abby’s very special effect on this community and we have decided that we are going to work with the township to build an accessible memorial park in Abby’s name in Schomberg. We are hoping to add a pavilion and make it a park that will be able to host community events and fundraisers, to help provide a location that will inspire young and old to give back to charities that are close to their hearts.
